Here are some tips to help you enter and exit a roundabout with confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important things to remember&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep the following rules in mind when you encounter a roundabout:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduce your speed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read the signs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the roundabout from the right<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yield to other vehicles or cyclists to your left<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive in a counter-clockwise direction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t stop inside the roundabout, except to avoid a collision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before exiting the roundabout, turn on your blinker and check for pedestrians and cyclists<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you missed your exit, continue&nbsp;around&nbsp;the roundabout until you reach your exit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The benefits of roundabouts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be thinking,&nbsp;<em>aren\u2019t traffic lights and stop signs just as effective as roundabouts?<\/em>&nbsp; Well, according to the Minist\u00e8re des Transports du Qu\u00e9bec, roundabouts encourage speed reduction, reduce the number and severity of accidents and regulate the flow of traffic. Therefore, it\u2019s no surprise they\u2019re popping up everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The difference between a roundabout and a traffic circle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At one time, traffic circles were common in many areas of Quebec. Unlike roundabouts, in a traffic circle, it is the motorists entering it who have the right of way. Therefore, vehicles already in the circle must give way to them.
