5 fun road trips to take in Quebec


Quebec has a vast territory and a bounty of tucked-away treasures. In this article, Certified Auto Repair shares five summer road trips that promise to leave you with lasting memories.

1. The Grand Tour

Tourisme Gaspésie invites you to take the Grand Tour, a scenic drive along the Gaspé Peninsula that is sure to charm anyone who loves coastal landscapes and fresh seafood. This circuit that begins and ends in Saint-Flavie spans 885 kilometres and offers 54 tourist attractions.

2. The Lighthouse Trail

There are 43 traditional lighthouses in Quebec, most of which are along the coastline. Over time, many of them have been transformed into cottages, inns and museums. If you love coastal views, architecture and history, then you’ll appreciate the Lighthouse Trail in Quebec’s maritime region.

3. The Whale Route

Tourisme Côte-Nord invites you to experience the spectacular Whale Route. Running from Tadoussac to Blanc-Sablon, this stretch of 1730 kilometres gives you the opportunity to see 13 species of whale in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. On land or at sea (for example, in a Zodiac or kayak), you’ll discover a beautiful landscape teeming with majestic wildlife.

4. Brome-Missisquoi’s Wine Route

Looking for a fantastic getaway with enchanting scenery, myriad activities,attractions and, last but not least, great wine? The Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route, less than an hour outside of Montreal, offers four driving routes ranging from 32 to 69 kilometres. Choose the one that calls to you or explore all four!

5. The Summit Drive

Do you love star-gazing and hiking in the mountains? The Summit Drive, from the Megantic Mountain to the Ham Mountain, runs for 193 kilometres and offers numerous natural playgrounds for various outdoor activities: mountain biking, ATVing, swimming, zip lining and more. The Summit Drive also has many greatscenic lookouts that you’ll want to enjoy along the way.
